Mandala Drawing and Meditation Workshop

Mandala is a Sanskrit word that loosely translates to mean circle or center. Mandala designs are generally circular with repeating colors, shapes and patterns radiating out from the center of the circle. The drawings can be precise or loose. Mandalas have significant historical and spiritual meaning and are often used as a healing tool to reduce stress and anxiety.

In this workshop you will draw your own mandala on paper and color it with colored pencils or markers. We will discuss the meaning of colors and how they relate to the chakra system in the body. We will close with a sharing and meditation.

Benefits of creating mandalas:
-Relaxes the body and mind
-Cultivates the feeling of happiness, inner peace, and general well-being
-Eases stress, anxiety, worry, overwhelm, fear, and depression
-Activates creativity and improves focus
-Enhances self-esteem and self-acceptance
-Fosters a sense of connectedness with one’s self and others
-Improves sleep
-It’s fun!
We will end the workshop with a short meditation and sharing.

Semi-hardcover Journal Making and Writing Workshop:

Journaling has been a consistent part of my life for over 40 years. Through my journals I have discovered parts of myself that might otherwise not have been unearthed. Through the practice of journaling, I have connected with the events of my days, my life, my reactions and responses in a way that brings clarity, inspiration, promotes creativity, joy and gratitude. My journals have be a constant companion. It is no wonder that I became a book artist, making both blank journals and artist books. Through my art, I am able to inspire others to meet themselves on the page.

In this workshop we will spend the morning painting our covers and binding our journal. After a break and a light lunch, the afternoon session will include a meditation, journaling, and sharing. The workshop is fun, inspiring and enlightening. I hope you can join us.

Four-hour workshop. Minimum 6 people. $75.00 | lunch and materials included

Introduction to Mala Meditation

Have you ever wanted to use Mala beads in your meditation but aren’t really sure how to use them? Do you find yourself intrigued by them, but don’t know what to do? You see others wearing them and wonder about them?
If that describes you, then this introduction to Mala Meditation workshop is for you.

Malas are made specifically for the purpose of meditation, much like the Catholic Rosary Beads are used to recite the Rosary. Mala meditation is quite powerful. In its simplest terms, the Mala gives your mind and body something to focus on during your meditation and this helps to still your mind. But it is so much more than that; Mala meditation is quite powerful. The energy of the beads combined with the intention and the mantra is potent and can transform your meditation.

The power of Mala Meditation:
-Holds your energy
-Brings healing and peace of mind
-Protection from negativity
-Increase your soul power
-Connects to divine channels
-Activates Shakti – supreme kundalini energy.

Join me in a two hour workshop where we explore the meaning, the posture, and the process of meditation using mala beads. Please bring Mala beads with you if you have them. If you don’t, let me know in advance and I will be sure to have some on hand.

Two hour workshop. Minimum 10 people. $35.00 | Date and location TBA
